Solutions FireWire/1394b Interface Developed a FireWire 1394b interface intended for camera applications using an FPGA, the embedded processor features of the FPGA and an external TI chipset. This interface is compliant to IIDC v1.31 and is capable of streaming video data at the maximum allowed 1394b rate. Multiple Display Digital LCD Controller with DVI Multiple Display Digital LCD Controller with DVI interfaces. PC100/133 SDRAM Tester (ATE) Participated in the design of a radical FPGA-based ATE memory tester. Completed eleven Xilinx XC4036XL FPGA designs allowing all standard memory tests to be performed. Designed innovative "TMU" (Time measurement unit) capable of 100ps resolution measurement of AC parameters during production test. Assisted with delivery of first units to customer. Pipelined Image Processing Designed a memory storage and manipulation board in a large pipelined image processing system. The board was 6U VME sized, contained five Xilinx 4044XLA FPGAs, a Xilinx 95288xl CPLD and up to 4GB of PC100 SDRAM. TCP/IP over Satellite Designed two control FPGAs on PCI cards. The first was for an IP-over-satellite modulator and the second was for an IP-over-satellite de-modulator. The designs included convolutional and block encoding/decoding and were IESS308/309 compliant. FpTek was also involved in the initial planning for a DVB (Digital Video Broadcasting) PCI card product. CAT Scanner Controller Developed a large image processing and control FPGA for a CAT scanning application. Provided advanced ALU for computation, image pixel re-ordering, and high-speed serial link. The finished design reached 1M+ gates. Image Scanning Controller Developed numerous FPGAs (Altera and Xilinx) for a sophisticated image scanning product. These FPGAs controlled mechanical devices, interacted with DSPs and assisted in image tracking algorithms.
